Quintessential Media Dynamo: Possessing both charm and grace and a keen eye for details, Shannon Gotthelf Cortina brings valuable communications and media relations experience to Springboard's clients. During her tenure, Shannon has directed an array of strategic PR and marketing campaigns for a variety of accounts ranging from consumer, technology, fashion and business-to-business companies.

Having worked extensively on time-sensitive media campaigns, Shannon has mastered the art of combining effective research, maintaining a pulse on industry trends and masterful relationship-building to effectively package a client's messages, pique reporters' interests and generate coverage. Most recently, Shannon was instrumental in securing coverage for Springboard clients on FOX Business News, CNBC, Forbes, and Bloomberg News.

The Early Years: Prior to joining Springboard Public Relations, Shannon was a senior account executive at MRB Public Relations. There, she sharpened her oral and written communication skills and focused on developing, implementing and managing a number of the agency's public relations campaigns.

With a strong emphasis on media relations, Shannon strategically drove campaigns generating high level media exposure for the agency's high technology clients such as Avocent, Digium/Asterisk, and Fossil Watches. In 2006, Shannon's account team was awarded the Silver Jasper Award from The Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association in the media campaign category for their work with GlobalPetFinder.

Previously, Shannon worked at The Sherry Group in Parsippany, New Jersey, where she worked on consumer accounts including Suunto, Marriott Golf Resorts and Danskin.

The Benefits of Being an Only Child: Self-described as a "typical only child," Shannon is regimented, strives for perfection and is described by her boss as "one of the most organized people I know." This translates to a detail-oriented approach to her work; ensuring clients optimize opportunities and serve as a valuable resource to the media.

Points of Interest: Shannon received a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. While at Catholic University, Shannon worked in the House of Representatives for Rep. Rush Holt (D-NJ12). She is also a member of the International Honor Society, Pi Gamma Mu.
